New iPhone 17 Colors Leak Should You Wait to Upgrade?
News Desk
Islamabad: A major leak has revealed what Apple fans can expect from the upcoming iPhone 17 lineup—just weeks before its anticipated launch. The leak not only details new color options for the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air but also hints at Apple’s ambitious 2026 product roadmap and current discount strategy on existing devices.
iPhone 17 Color Options Leaked
According to a trusted leaker on Naver, images of camera lens protector rings—typically color-matched with the device body—have exposed the expected colors for two models:
iPhone 17 is expected in:
Black
Blue
Green
Purple
Silver
iPhone 17 Air, a slimmer and more affordable model, will reportedly come in:
Black
Light Blue
Light Gold
Silver
A mysterious transparent ring also appeared in the leak but wasn’t listed among the official colors, suggesting it might not indicate a transparent iPhone model. Notably, color details for the Pro and Pro Max variants remain under wraps.
Apple has yet to confirm these colors, though leaks like this often precede official announcements, which are expected by mid-September.
Apple’s 2026 Roadmap: Budget iPhone, New iPads and Macs
Beyond the iPhone 17, Apple is reportedly planning a wave of product releases in early 2026. Key highlights include:
iPhone 17e: A more affordable model resembling the iPhone 16 but powered by Apple’s next-gen A19 chip (codenamed V159). Designed to succeed this year’s $599 model, it aims to expand Apple’s presence in the mid-range smartphone market.
iPads: Updated iPad Air and iPad Pro models are expected to debut in March or April 2026, featuring the new M5 chip. Entry-level iPads (codenamed J581 and J582) are also due for refreshes.
MacBooks: New 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models (J714, J716) and updated MacBook Airs with the M5 chip are in development. These may be the final updates before Apple transitions to OLED displays and revamped laptop designs.
Mac Display: An external Mac monitor is reportedly in the works, reinforcing Apple’s broader strategy to stabilize revenue amid fluctuating market demand.
Apple Offers Deep Discounts Ahead of Launch
As part of an apparent inventory-clearance push before the iPhone 17 launch, Apple has significantly cut prices on several popular products:
AirPods Pro 2: Now $149 (down from $249)
AirPods 4: Now $89 (was $129)
Apple Watch Series 10: Now $279 (was $399)
iPad mini with A17 Pro: Now $379 (was $499)
M4 MacBook Air: Now $849 (was $999)
Analysts see these price cuts as part of Apple’s strategy to manage product transitions while staying competitive in an increasingly saturated smartphone and PC market.
iPhone 17 Launch Timeline
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup by mid-September 2025, with pre-orders likely to begin shortly after.
With a fresh lineup of colors, budget models, and revamped iPads and Macs on the horizon, the tech giant appears to be gearing up for a pivotal year ahead.
