Jerusalem: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed circulating rumors about his death on social media by posting a video showing both hands with all ten fingers.

The rumors emerged after social media posts claimed Netanyahu had been killed in an Iranian attack. Speculation intensified following a March 12 video in which he appeared to have six fingers, prompting some observers to suggest the footage was artificially generated using AI.

In the newly released video, Netanyahu is seen casually drinking coffee at a café, raising both hands and saying he has ten fingers, directly countering the assassination claims.

Earlier, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office issued a statement confirming that Netanyahu is alive and labeling the reports of his assassination as false.

The confusion was fueled further when Netanyahu was absent from a key Israeli security meeting and the subsequent media briefing, while additional AI-generated images and videos began circulating online.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards reiterated their threats against Netanyahu, stating that if he is alive, they would continue to target him.

The episode highlights the growing role of AI in spreading misinformation and the rapid escalation of unverified claims on social media, especially in the context of heightened tensions between Israel and Iran.
