NEOC Issues Flood, Landslide Alert for AJK

Islamabad: The National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) on Tuesday issued a warning of possible urban flooding in several cities of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and landslides in hilly areas due to expected heavy rainfall over the next 12 to 24 hours.

According to the weather advisory issued by the National Disaster Management Authority’s (NDMA) NEOC, widespread heavy rainfall is likely in Mirpur, Dadyal, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Kotli, Rawalakot, Muzaffarabad, Sharda, Haveli, and adjoining areas.

The NDMA urged residents in vulnerable regions to remain vigilant, exercise extreme caution near streams and flooded roads, and avoid unnecessary travel. Citizens were further advised to adhere to safety protocols, follow official instructions, and stay away from power lines and waterlogged areas during the ongoing wet spell.
