Naushki-Dalbandin Highway Blast Claims Five Lives

Islamabad: At least five people were killed and ten others injured in a powerful blast near a bus on the Naushki-Dalbandin Highway in Balochistan on Sunday.

According to police officials, the bus was targeted while traveling on the highway, resulting in casualties and injuries. Rescue teams promptly reached the scene and transported the injured and deceased to the hospital, as reported by a private news channel.

Meanwhile, the Medical Superintendent of Mir Gul Khan Naseer Teaching Hospital in Naushki has declared an emergency to manage the situation and provide immediate medical assistance to the injured.

Four, Including Three Cops, Martyred in Separate Attacks

At least four people, including three police personnel, were martyred, and three others injured in separate gun attacks targeting police stations, checkpoints, and a Sui gas installation in the early hours of Sunday.

According to police, a cop was martyred when armed assailants attacked the Pajjagi police post in Peshawar. Police returned fire, forcing the attackers to flee and later launched a search operation in the area to track them down.

Meanwhile, in Karak, miscreants launched attacks on the Takht-e-Nasrati and Thana Khurram police stations using heavy weaponry. District Police Officer (DPO) Shehbaz Ilahi stated that police successfully repelled both attacks. However, an officer was martyred in the first assault before police retaliation forced the attackers to escape.

In Bannu, terrorists attempted to attack the Spinah Tangi police checkpoint. Security personnel responded with gunfire, forcing the attackers to retreat. No casualties were reported in this incident.

Additionally, militants attacked the Nasran police checkpoint within the jurisdiction of Gul Imam police station in Tank, injuring two policemen. Separately, a retired police officer was fatally shot in South Waziristan’s Dabkot area.

In another incident in Karak, militants attacked a Sui gas installation, martyring one security guard and injuring another. The assailants managed to escape after the assault.

DPO Ilahi later confirmed that firing at both police stations and the gas facility had ceased.

Earlier, police had reported coordinated attacks on six police stations and checkpoints in Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and Tank in the early hours of Saturday. Officials stated that no casualties were reported as police, with the support of local residents, successfully repelled all attacks.
