Naimal Khawar Returns to TV And She’s Bringing Hamza Abbasi With Her

News Desk

Islamabad: Popular actor-turned-artist Naimal Khawar is reportedly making a much-anticipated return to television after stepping away from showbiz for over five years.

What’s got fans buzzing even more is that she’s said to be starring opposite her husband, renowned actor Hamza Ali Abbasi, in an upcoming drama serial titled Ishq Mein Khuda Mil Gaya.

Naimal, who rose to fame with her role in Anaa and made her silver screen debut in Shoaib Mansoor’s Verna, had quit acting back in 2019 — well before her wedding. “I quit acting nine months before my wedding.

It was entirely my own decision, made without any pressure,” she clarified in a social media post shortly after marrying Hamza Ali Abbasi.

Since tying the knot, Naimal has focused on family life and her painting career, occasionally appearing in fashion campaigns and exhibitions. The couple welcomed their son, Mustafa, in 2020.

Now, if the reports are to be believed, Naimal is returning to the spotlight with Ishq Mein Khuda Mil Gaya, a drama written by Mohsin Nadeem and directed by Parizaad and Sinf-e-Aahan fame Shahzad Kashmiri. The drama will also reportedly feature popular digital creator Rabia Faisal of the viral Sisterology fame.

While the star couple has not made an official announcement, social media is already buzzing with excitement. “Wow, Hamza and Naimal together — like a dream come true,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Is this news really true? I can’t wait!” gushed another.

However, the casting has stirred some controversy. Some drama enthusiasts expressed disappointment over the rumoured exit of Hiba Bukhari, who was initially speculated to play the lead role. “Why cast Naimal when Hiba has been consistently delivering strong performances?” one fan questioned on a drama forum.

Naimal has yet to break her silence on the matter. But if confirmed, this on-screen pairing of one of Pakistan’s most adored real-life couples is bound to set viewership records and redefine comeback goals in the entertainment industry.
