Murree Transporters Warned Against Overcharging

News Desk

Rawalpindi: Deputy Commissioner Murree, Agha Zahir Sherazi, has issued a warning to transporters to adhere to government regulations following a recent reduction in fuel prices.

He instructed that fares on all routes be reduced accordingly and that fare lists be prominently displayed.

In a meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner on Wednesday, which included the Secretary of RTA, traffic police officials, and representatives from Rescue-1122, Sherazi emphasized that the benefits of the fuel price reduction should be passed on to the public.

Diesel prices have been cut by Rs 13.60 per liter and petrol by Rs 10 per liter, necessitating a proportional decrease in travel fares.

The Deputy Commissioner directed that transport owners immediately display updated fare lists at stations and ensure compliance with the revised fares.

He instructed the traffic police to enforce these fare changes strictly and address any public complaints promptly. Vehicles should be inspected to ensure adherence to the new fare structure, with strict actions to be taken against those who violate the regulations.
