Murree Snowfall Forecast, Administrations on High Alert

Rawalpindi: Following the Meteorological Department’s snowfall forecast for Murree, the district administration heightened its alert status on Tuesday.

As per a spokesperson for the Murree district administration, the MET office predicted rain and snowfall for Murree on Tuesday night and Wednesday.

Anticipating moderate to heavy precipitation during this period, the weather in Murree, Galliyat, and the nearby areas was expected to be cold and partly cloudy.

The forecast indicated minimum temperatures ranging from 00 to 02 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures from 07 to 09 degrees Celsius.

Considering the likelihood of snowfall, the district administration activated all relevant departments, issuing an advisory for tourists.

Tourists were strongly advised to take necessary precautions and stay informed about the weather conditions before heading to Murree. Additionally, the use of tire chains in snowy areas was recommended.

Adherence to traffic rules was emphasized to ensure smooth traffic flow on the roads.

The spokesperson mentioned the establishment of 13 tourist facilitation centers at various locations to assist and guide visitors. In case of emergencies, Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122, could be contacted.

Tourists were also encouraged to use the Tourism Helpline at 1421 and the PDMA Helpline at 1129.
