Murree Police Intensify Crackdown on Violators

Rawalpindi: Murree Traffic Police have launched a vigorous crackdown on traffic violators under the directive of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Waseem Akhtar, aiming to ensure road safety and enforce the principle of “One Nation, One Law.”

According to a police spokesperson, dozens of vehicles and motorcycles were penalized during the past week. A total of 188 drivers were fined for driving without valid licenses, while 98 vehicles faced penalties for overloading.

Similarly, 123 transporters were booked for overcharging passengers, while 204 motorcyclists were fined for riding without helmets. Action was also taken against 165 vehicles carrying unregistered number plates.

Police registered more than 22 cases of speeding, negligence, and careless driving. CTO Waseem Akhtar said the crackdown would continue without discrimination, stressing that traffic laws must be respected for the safety of all road users.

He urged citizens to follow traffic rules to protect not only their own lives but also those of others.
