Murree on Alert: Tourists Urged to Cooperate With Authorities

Rawalpindi: In view of the possible snowfall expected in Murree, the district administration has advised tourists to plan their journeys carefully and strictly follow safety guidelines.
Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi on Sunday visited Mall Road, the Control Room, THQ Hospital, and facilitation centres at Jhikka Gali, Kaldna, and other key locations to review preparedness and arrangements.
He said that all relevant departments, including Rescue 1122, the Highway Department, Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC), and the Tourism Squad, were fully deployed in the field to deal with any emergency situation.
The DC informed that 13 facilitation centres had been established to assist and guide tourists, while the control room was fully operational to promptly respond to emergencies, snowfall, or traffic disruptions. Necessary staff and machinery had also been placed on standby.
Emphasising traffic management, he said the approved traffic plan would be implemented strictly to ensure smooth vehicular flow during adverse weather conditions.
He appealed to tourists and the public to cooperate with the administration, follow official instructions, and plan their travel in accordance with prevailing weather conditions to avoid inconvenience and ensure safety.
