Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly dry weather across most parts of the country on Friday, with only isolated areas in Gilgit-Baltistan likely to experience light rain and thunderstorms.

The capital, Islamabad, and its surrounding areas are expected to remain dry with partly cloudy skies. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab will also see dry conditions, although gusty winds are anticipated in some districts of Punjab.

Sindh is expected to remain hot and dry, while Balochistan will experience dry conditions throughout the day. In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, partly cloudy weather is forecast, with light rain and thunderstorms possible in isolated parts of Gilgit-Baltistan.

The PMD also warned that winds blowing from Iran may carry pollutants, potentially reducing air quality in western Pakistan.

Recent maximum temperatures recorded across the country include 39°C in Mithi, Chhor, and Padidan, and 38°C in Karachi and Shaheed Benazirabad.
