Most of Country To Experience Rain, Thunderstorms From Today

Islamabad: Most parts of the country are predicted to experience rain, wind, and thunderstorms with isolated heavy rain and hail and occasional gaps from Thursday to Monday (March 16–20).

Meanwhile, partly cloudy weather is likely to prevail in most of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province and Bahawalpur city according to the Met Office.

A westerly wave is expected to enter the country on Friday and hold the upper and central parts, lasting until Monday, according to the meteorological forecast. The involved authorities have been urged by the Met Office to exercise caution and be aware during the forecast period in order to prevent any undesirable circumstances.

The wind and hailstorm could cause damage to standing crops and infrastructure, and local authorities have been advised to be ready to deal with any landslides in steep places. Tourists have been urged to exercise caution because the spell is predicted to bring daytime lows of 6 to 8°C.

The rain is anticipated to be beneficial for the Barani areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB). Also, tourists are encouraged to exercise increased caution during the anticipated time.

The rain, wind, dust, and thunderstorms are expected from March 16 to 20 in Murree, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Haripur, Karak, Peshawar, Kohat, Charsada, Nowshera, Swabi, Bajaur, Kurram, Waziristan, Bannu, and the Dera Is Ali Khan

While, rain will occur from Friday (evening/night) to Sundayin Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Khushab, Mianwali, Sargodha, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bhakkar, Layyah, Kot Addu, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Bahawalpur, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mirpurkhas, Dadu, Karachi, Quetta, Zhob, Khuzdar, Naseerabad, Dera Bugti, Barkhan, Harnai, Qila Saifullah, Qillah Abdullah, Chamman and Pishin.

Rain, wind and thunderstorm (with few heavy falls and hailstorm) is expected from Friday (evening or night) to Monday in Kashmir:Neelum valley, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur;GB:Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar.

KP Weather Update: The Regional Meteorological Center (RMC) Peshawar on Wednesday predicted partly overcast to cloudy weather for most districts of the KP province. However, scattered rain and thunderstorm with gusty winds is likely to occur over Swat, Chitral, Lower and Upper Dir, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Kohistan, Battagram, Torghar, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mohmand, Bajaur, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda, Peshawar, Khyber, Kohat, Hangu, Kurram and Abbottabad districts.

RMC saidthat isolated rain and thunderstorm with strong winds is also likely to occur over Bannu, LakkiMarwat, Karak, Orakzai, DI Khan and North and South Waziristan districts.Dry weather prevailed in most districts of KP during the last 24 hours. The lowest temperature recorded in the province is -01°C in Kalam.

The local Met Office issued a 24-hour prediction for the city that called for dry to partly cloudy weather. The highest maximum temperature 36°C and the lowest minimum 21°C were recorded during last 24 hours. For the rest of the region, dry to partly overcast weather has also been predicted.
