No Flood-Generating Rains at Present: FFC
News Desk
Islamabad: There is no flood situation in the country as monsoon season has already ended with no flood-generating rains at present, said the press release issued by the Federal Flood Commission (FFC) on Tuesday.
All main rivers of the Indus River System are flowing with normal discharges, the daily report added.
The combined live storage of the country’s major reservoirs including Tarbela, Chashma, and Mangla, is 9.321 MAF. According to the flood forecasting division (FFD), Lahore’s weak trough of the westerly wave over Kashmir and adjoining areas has moved eastward, whereas a weak seasonal low continues to prevail over northeastern Balochistan.
The FFD has predicted mainly dry weather over most parts of the country for the next 24 hours. However, isolated rain of light intensity may occur over the upper catchment of the River Indus during the same period.
