News Desk
Karachi: Pakistan all-rounder Moaz Sadaqat delivered a match-winning performance at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Friday, scoring a brilliant 75 off 46 balls and taking 3 wickets for 23 runs, guiding Pakistan to a 128-run victory over Bangladesh in the rain-affected second ODI.
Originally, Pakistan had set a target of 275 runs in 50 overs, but rain delayed the match for over two hours, and the target was revised to 243 runs in 32 overs under the Duckworth-Lewis method. Bangladesh struggled in their chase, eventually being bowled out for 114 in 23.3 overs.
Bangladesh lost three early wickets inside five overs and, despite a brief partnership of 58 runs off 47 balls between Liton Das and Tohid Hridoy, Sadaqat broke the stand by dismissing Das, who scored 41 off 33 balls, including four fours and two sixes. After that, Bangladesh collapsed, losing four more wickets to reach 103/8 in 19.4 overs.

Bangladesh’s bowling efforts were led by Rashid Hossain, who took three wickets, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed two, and Naheed Rana, Mustafizur Rahman, and Taskin Ahmed took one wicket each.
This emphatic win gives Pakistan a series lead and highlights Sadaqat’s all-round brilliance, proving decisive in the rain-affected contest.
Hussain Talat Injured During Pakistan’s Must-Win ODI Against Bangladesh
Pakistan all-rounder Hussain Talat suffered a shoulder injury during the second ODI against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Friday, dealing a potential blow to Pakistan’s hopes in the ongoing three-match series.
The injury occurred on the second delivery of the sixth over of Bangladesh’s innings when Talat, fielding at deep cover, sprinted to stop a backfoot punch from Litton Das off Mohammad Wasim Jr.. In his effort, he collided with an advertising hoarding, leaving him in visible discomfort and forcing his substitution from the field.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that the 30-year-old was taken to a hospital for a detailed examination. “Talat received immediate medical attention on the field. The nature and extent of the injury will be determined after further medical evaluation,” the PCB said in a statement.
Talat’s injury is a major setback for Pakistan, who are trailing 1-0 in the series and needed the second ODI as a must-win fixture to stay in contention.
Earlier, Pakistan posted a competitive total of 274 all out in 47.3 overs, thanks to brilliant half-centuries from Moaz Sadaqat and Salman Ali Agha. Sadaqat top-scored with a blistering 75 off 46 balls, including six fours and five sixes, while Agha contributed 64 runs off 62 balls with seven fours and two sixes.
Bangladesh began their reply strongly, reaching 27/3 in 6.3 overs, before rain and a hailstorm interrupted the match. With 248 runs still required in 261 balls, Pakistan’s hopes now hinge not only on Talat’s recovery but also on maintaining pressure on the hosts.
Talat’s fitness will be crucial as Pakistan aims to bounce back in the series and level it ahead of the final match.
