A Survey on Drug Use in Pakistan

Islamabad: The National Drug Use Survey Pakistan 2022–23 will be launched today by the Ministry of Narcotics Control and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
In order to determine the scope and patterns of drug use in Pakistan, the UNODC undertook a national survey in 2012 and 2013, in partnership with the MNC and other national stakeholders.

According to the survey’s overall findings, 6.7 million people, or about six percent of the population overall, nine percent of adult males, and two percent of adult women, had used a substance other than alcohol or cigarettes in the year before the survey.
The event will be attended by senior government officials, members of the international community, private sector associations, development partners, academics, ambassadors, diplomats, and colleagues from UN agencies.
