Metro Services Reopen in Islamabad Following Security Measures

News Desk

Islamabad: After a day of chaos in the federal capital, Islamabad returned to normalcy today. Following the closure of major roads and the suspension of metro bus services due to security concerns, all routes have now reopened, and metro services have resumed regular operations.

The disruptions began yesterday as authorities tightened security in response to a planned rally by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Supreme Court’s hearing of the Mubarak Sani case, amid fears of potential unrest.

The administration had sealed main roads leading to Islamabad, including the Red Zone, using containers and other barriers.

Major entrances, such as Faizabad and Murree Road, were completely blocked, causing severe traffic jams and leaving commuters stranded for hours. The Metro Bus service, a key public transport option in the city, was also suspended as a precaution.
