Islamabad: Meta, the owner of Facebook, has ceased the automatic display of political content on its social sharing app Instagram and microblogging platform Threads.
Both platforms have officially announced in blog posts that political content will not be visible by default.

However, American users can still access various types of political content by adjusting their settings.
The company defines political content as discussions related to election topics, government, policy, and social issues from a political perspective. In the coming days, users worldwide will no longer automatically see political content on both platforms.
Previously, both platforms utilized algorithms to show political content to users, but now, such content will only be visible on Instagram and Threads after users actively change their settings to allow it.
It’s worth noting that this change has not been immediately implemented on Meta’s largest social platform, Facebook, but it is anticipated that similar adjustments may be made in the future.
