Meta AI Shortcut Coming to WhatsApp Home Screen

Islamabad: Meta-owned WhatsApp is preparing to launch a new widget that will allow users to access Meta AI directly from their Home Screen. This feature, spotted in the latest WhatsApp beta version 2.25.1.27 for Android, aims to provide users with quicker access to Meta AI without opening the app itself.

Once live, the widget will let users initiate conversations with Meta AI directly from the Home Screen, bypassing the WhatsApp interface. Additionally, it will offer a shortcut for users to take and share photos with Meta AI, enabling features like photo editing or content analysis directly from the widget.

Currently under development, the feature is expected to be rolled out in the coming weeks. The goal is to simplify the user experience by reducing the steps needed to interact with Meta AI.

At the same time, WhatsApp is also working on a feature that will allow users to create and customize their own AI chatbots within the app.

Users will be able to design AI companions by defining their personalities, goals, and tasks, with the AI’s behavior tailored accordingly. This feature, which is still in development, is expected to be available soon.
