Karachi: The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) paper for Karachi was allegedly leaked just hours before the scheduled exam, sparking concern among students and parents.

According to sources, the exam paper surfaced at midnight, leading to widespread unease. Dr Mehboob, Chairman of the Young Doctors Association (YDA), voiced his apprehension: “We feared this might happen. Hopefully, the circulating paper is fake.”

On the other hand, Dow University management dismissed the circulating paper as a baseless rumor, stating that no such leak had occurred. However, worried parents vowed to protest if any of the leaked questions were found in the actual exam.

MDCAT is a crucial exam for admission into government and private medical and dental colleges across Pakistan, with over 167,000 candidates competing for around 18,000 seats.MD CAT Paper Allegedly Leaked Hours Before Exam in Karachi

In Karachi, the situation worsened on exam day. Scheduled for 10 am, students started arriving at the NED and Ojha campuses as early as 7 am, only to face disorganized logistics.

Long queues stretched for hundreds of meters due to inadequate arrangements, forcing many to park their cars on the roads, causing significant traffic jams. Tensions rose when Dow University staff began admitting students one by one, leading to confusion and frustration.

Candidates stood in the sweltering heat for over an hour and a half, with heated arguments breaking out between students, parents, and university staff.

The President of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), Dr. Taj, took notice of the situation, contacting the Vice-Chancellor of Dow University to ensure quicker admission into the test centers to avoid further delays.

Students and parents remain anxious, awaiting confirmation on whether the leaked paper will affect the integrity of the exam.
