Mawra Urges Connection After Tragic Deaths of Lonely Actresses

Islamabad: Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane has called on people to break social barriers and reconnect with one another, emphasizing that self-sufficiency shouldn’t be worn like a badge of honor.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, she urged her followers to embrace their social nature rather than withdrawing into isolation. “Stop being self-sufficient — it’s not a medal,” she wrote.
Mawra stressed the importance of staying connected and maintaining communication, saying, “Stop being completely anti-social.” She encouraged people to normalize picking up the phone, even when they don’t feel like it. “Let’s all talk!” she added.
Recognizing that reaching out isn’t easy for everyone, she offered support: “I know it’s harder for some people, but it’s easier for people like me. We’ll take the lead — just come along with us.”
Her message follows a wave of grief in the Lollywood industry after the tragic deaths of actresses Humaira Asghar and Ayesha Khan. Both were found dead in their homes days — and in one case, months — after passing, highlighting the deep loneliness some individuals face.
Humaira Asghar, 32, was discovered in her DHA Karachi apartment, where she had reportedly lived alone for over seven years. An autopsy revealed she had died eight to ten months earlier. Similarly, veteran actress Ayesha Khan was found dead in June, with police stating she had been deceased for several days before being found.
