Margalla Hills Tragedy: Taha’s Body Shifted to Hospital for Autopsy

Islamabad: The body of 15-year-old Muhammad Taha, who tragically lost his life in the Margalla Hills, has been shifted to the hospital for a post-mortem examination. 

After a grueling 14-hour rescue operation, the authorities were able to recover Taha’s body from the 70-foot deep ravine where he had fallen.

Taha, a student at Army Public School, was known for his academic excellence, having achieved a remarkable 95 percent in the ninth grade. His death has left his family and community in shock and grief.

The rescue effort involved the collaboration of wildlife officials, police, and Rescue 1122 personnel, highlighting the challenging terrain and circumstances of the operation. In response to the incident, Trail 5 has been temporarily closed, with Rangers deployed for additional safety measures.

Initial reports suggest that Taha may have slipped and fallen into the ravine, leading to his tragic death. However, authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to explore all possible angles.

Taha’s grandfather remembered him as a bright and courteous young man who was dearly loved by his family. Raised by his grandfather since infancy due to the loss of his father, Taha was described as intelligent and well-behaved.

The outing that ended in tragedy was supposed to be a hiking trip with Taha’s friends from Army Public School. Departing early in the morning, Taha and his companions set out for Margalla Hills Trail 5. 

However, when Taha failed to return home by evening, concern grew, eventually leading to the discovery of his body the following morning.

The heart-wrenching loss of Muhammad Taha serves as a poignant reminder of the inherent risks associated with outdoor activities and the importance of safety precautions.
