Man Held for Murder of 16-Year-Old Girl in DG Khan

DG Khan: Police have arrested the main suspect involved in the brutal murder of a 16-year-old married girl, a day after she was killed for allegedly rejecting his marriage proposal.

The victim, identified as Shumaila Bibi, wife of Husnain, was attacked inside her home in Shakir Town, DG Khan, on Tuesday. According to police, the accused, Imran, forcibly entered the house and fatally assaulted her with a sharp-edged weapon. Shumaila’s father-in-law, Nazir Ahmad (60), was also injured while trying to intervene.

Police officials said Imran was tracked and arrested on Wednesday using modern surveillance technology. Two accomplices, who reportedly remained outside the house during the attack, are still at large. Efforts are underway to apprehend them.

Sources revealed that Imran had previously sent a marriage proposal to Shumaila, which was declined. She was married to Husnain about a year ago. Both the accused and the victim’s husband were employed at the same private company, and had a heated argument at their workplace days before the incident.

District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Ali immediately ordered a swift operation to apprehend the suspects following the incident. A police spokesperson confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and further developments are expected.
