Chichawatni: A tragic incident unfolded in Chichawatni on Thursday, as a man named Waqas allegedly stabbed his 28-year-old wife, Sana Farid, to death over ongoing domestic issues.
The incident occurred in village 50/12 L.
According to local police, Waqas was taken into custody, and an official investigation is underway following the registration of the case.
Blast Kills Two Children, Injures Parents
A blast in a house in North Waziristan on Thursday claimed the lives of two children, while their parents sustained injuries.
The explosion, reportedly caused by stored explosive material, led to the collapse of the room’s roof in Tabbi village, according to local police. Emergency services shifted the injured parents to a nearby hospital. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the origin and cause of the blast.
Astor Coaster Accident
Fourteen victims of the recent tragic coaster accident in Astor were laid to rest on Thursday, with a large gathering attending the funeral rites in their native areas.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Tariq confirmed an ongoing search for 11 individuals still missing from the accident.
Rescue teams from Gilgit, Diamar, and Astor, along with local volunteers, are intensifying efforts, including deploying boats and divers. The body of a woman was recovered from the riverbank and transported to Chakwal.
Authorities are continuing the operation with expanded search teams, aiming to bring relief to the grieving families.
Nine Killed Over Property Disputes
Property disputes escalated into deadly violence in Peshawar and Bannu on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of nine individuals across two incidents.
In Peshawar’s Chamkani area, five people were killed in a violent clash between two rival groups, confirmed district police.
In Bannu’s Landhi Jalandhar area, four people lost their lives in an exchange of gunfire over a similar property dispute.
FIRs have been registered in both incidents, and investigations are ongoing as police search for the suspects, who reportedly fled the scenes.
