Malam Jabba Snow Festival Enthrals International Ski Players

Swat: A large number of national and international athletes participated in thrilling competitions in the second-ever adventurous Red Bull Homerun held at Malam Jabba ski resort in Swat valley on Sunday.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA), Red Bull Home Run Pakistan, and the Samson Group of Companies had jointly organised the event at the winter sports ski resort in Malam Jabba. Commissioner Malakand Division Shahid Ullah Khan and Brig. Commander Six Brig. Sajjad Akbar were the chief guests.
Professionals, amateurs and winter sports enthusiasts from different cities in Pakistan showed off their skills in ski and snowboard competitions. The athletes received applause from the audience during the ski and snowboard races. Over 70 male and female competitors competed in the ski and snowboard races.
The game is thrilling as participants sprint from the top of a snowy mountain with their skis and snowboards, clip in, and race down a marked course to the finish line. Samar Khan of Dir stood first in the female snowboarding event and Amees Hussain in the male competition.
Zahid Khan was declared the winner of the male ski competition, followed by Sher Ghani and Ilyas, who stood second and third, respectively. Bushra won the female ski events, while Ayesha and Iqra finished second and third in the female snowboarding competition, respectively.
Shahidullah stated that international competitions would also be staged in the future and athletes from other countries would take part. The district government will host activities in the region to advertise winter travel.
In addition to improving people’s economic circumstances, it would draw attention to the region’s tourism prospects, added Commissioner.
The homerun festival, which attracted a lot of people, also featured a number of traditional musical and entertainment performances. Residents in the area praised the efforts of the district administration and tourism authority and urged adding similar events in the future.
