Islamabad: Pakistani actress Mahira Khan was reportedly harassed by unruly attendees during a promotional event for her upcoming film Love Guru at the Indo-Pak Supermarket in Ilford, London.

The event, which also featured co-star Humayun Saeed, descended into chaos as a massive crowd overwhelmed the venue’s limited security, leading to multiple instances of inappropriate behavior directed at the actress.

Eyewitnesses claim that Mahira was subjected to molestation by several young men in the crowd, both when she entered the store and later as she moved to the rooftop terrace—a scheduled part of the event where she and Humayun were to greet fans.

Footage shared on social media shows the actors waving from the rooftop while at least three individuals aggressively approached Mahira, with little visible intervention from security personnel.

Disturbingly, a source told local media that one of the security guards assigned to protect the actress was allegedly involved in the harassment. “The moment she stepped into the store, one of the guards turned on her,” the source said, adding that Mahira appeared visibly distressed and reluctant to continue with the event.

The situation was further strained by the presence of Indian flags at the venue, which reportedly made some attendees uncomfortable given ongoing India-Pakistan sensitivities. Despite the turmoil, the promotional event continued as planned.

Adding to the controversy were reports of financial mismanagement. Sources allege that Mahira Khan was promised £5,000 for her appearance, but the payment was not fulfilled, prompting her to confront the organizers over both the security failure and the unpaid compensation.

As of now, neither Mahira Khan nor the event organizers have released an official statement. However, the incident has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with fans criticizing the event’s poor management and demanding accountability.

Love Guru, starring Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed, is scheduled to hit cinemas on June 6.
