Magnitude 5 Earthquake Jolts Gilgit, Skardu, Hunza

Islamabad: Residents of Gilgit, Hunza, and Skardu experienced unsettling tremors as an earthquake with a magnitude of 5 and a depth of 25 km struck the region.
The epicenter was identified as 68 km south of Gilgit, according to the seismological center.
The seismic activity extended its impact to areas such as Ghazar, Diamar, Ganche, and Kharmang in Gilgit-Baltistan, prompting people to emerge from their homes in fear. Fortunately, no immediate reports of damage were received.
The quake, while causing alarm among the residents, did not result in any immediate harm. Authorities are monitoring the situation, and residents are advised to stay vigilant and follow safety protocols in case of any aftershocks.
