Lucky Ali Hopes to Revisit Roots in Pakistan’s Bhera Village

Islamabad: Indian singer Lucky Ali, son of the late Bollywood comedy legend Mehmood, has expressed his desire to visit Pakistan.

In a recent post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Ali wrote, “Hoping to get a visit visa to Pakistan to visit my relatives and see my mother’s ancestral village, Bhera.”

Lucky Ali’s mother, Madhu Kumari, the younger sister of famed Indian actress Meena Kumari, was born as Mahliqa in Bhera, Sargodha. Her father, Ali Bakhsh, was a tennis coach who met her future husband, Iqbal Begum, during tennis lessons he gave to Meena Kumari.

Ali’s tweet received a warm reception from many Pakistanis, particularly residents of Bhera, who expressed their excitement at the prospect of welcoming the artist. Some even extended personal invitations for him to stay in their homes.

However, reactions were mixed, as some Indians voiced discontent, advising Ali to remain in Pakistan rather than return to India. These responses underscore the region’s complex cultural and national dynamics, with Ali’s potential visit stirring both enthusiasm and controversy.
