Lopard Cubs Rescued from Jabri’s Mountains

Haripur: The Wildlife Department of Haripur on Tuesday intervened to save two leopard cubs found in the mountainous terrain of Jabri, transporting them to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre in Abbottabad.

Owais Khan, the SDFO Wildlife in Haripur, revealed that the department received a tip-off about two common leopard cubs spotted in the mountainous regions of Jabbri.

In response, a specialized team was promptly dispatched to the specified location.

Following an operation, both cubs were successfully captured by the team and subsequently transferred to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Abbottabad.

Officials estimate the cubs to be approximately two to three months old. Once rehabilitated, they will be released back into their natural habitat.

Efforts are underway to locate the cubs’ mother, with wildlife teams employing various measures to ensure the safety and welfare of the entire leopard family.

Officials emphasized the vital role of the common leopard in the local ecosystem. Consequently, a comprehensive campaign has been initiated to raise awareness and encourage active community involvement in wildlife conservation efforts.

Residents are urged to understand the significance of preserving the common leopard and its habitat for the overall health and sustainability of the ecosystem.
