Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday forecast light rain and scattered thunderstorms in various parts of Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), while most other regions of the country are likely to continue experiencing hot and dry weather.

According to the Met Office, districts including Bahawalnagar, Multan, Sahiwal, and Pakpattan in Punjab may see light rain and isolated thunderstorms. Light showers accompanied by gusty winds are also expected in Khanewal and Dera Ghazi Khan.

In the hilly areas of Punjab, particularly Murree and Galiyat, partly cloudy skies with chances of rain have been predicted, offering some respite from the prevailing dry conditions.

Meanwhile, several districts in KP, including Kohistan, Battagram, Swat, and Mansehra, are likely to receive rain with gusty winds. Similar weather conditions have been forecast for Abbottabad and Haripur.

In contrast, the weather in Sindh and Balochistan is expected to remain extremely hot and dry, with no significant rainfall on the horizon.

The Meteorological Department has advised citizens to remain cautious, especially in areas where thunderstorms and strong winds are expected.
