Islamabad: In a significant development, a leaked audio recording allegedly featuring Bushra Bibi, wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, has shed light on the party’s detailed plans for its upcoming November 24 protest.
The audio, reported by 24NewsHD TV Channel, has become a focal point in Pakistan’s political discourse, revealing the PTI’s protest tactics and strategy.
Bibi is heard outlining directives for party lawmakers, officials, and office-bearers, urging them to mobilize mass participation and ensure robust documentation of the event.
“This is Imran Khan’s message to all presidents, general secretaries, MNAs, and MPAs. No one should claim tomorrow that they didn’t receive Khan’s message,” she asserted in the recording.
Bushra Bibi emphasized the need for MNAs and MPAs to lead convoys comprising 10,000 and 5,000 participants, respectively. She also called for alternate leadership plans to ensure continuity in case of arrests, reflecting a calculated approach to counter potential crackdowns.
The leaked audio highlights Bushra Bibi’s insistence on thorough documentation of the protest. She urged participants to take photos and videos and suggested using motorcycles to deliver footage to national and international media outlets in case of internet disruptions.
Leaders failing to provide visual proof of participation, she warned, would jeopardize their chances of securing party tickets in future elections.
Framing the protest as a fight for national sovereignty, she said, “This is not just Khan’s battle for freedom; it is our collective struggle for the nation’s sovereignty. November 24 will be a test of loyalty to Khan and the country.”
Bibi also addressed internal divisions within the PTI, cautioning against betrayal and drawing parallels with historical figures like Mir Jafar and Mir Sadiq.
Health Concerns Amid Political Challenges
Amid the political storm, sources revealed that Bushra Bibi’s health has deteriorated, potentially preventing her from appearing in court. A motion for immunity from appearance is expected to be filed due to her condition, which sources attributed to a severe toothache.
Bushra Bibi’s protective bail application is scheduled for a hearing today, adding another layer of complexity to her role amid PTI’s ongoing political challenges.
