Landslides, Heavy Snow Strand Hundreds on Karakoram Highway

Kohistan: Hundreds of passengers and vehicles found themselves stranded as the Karakoram Highway closed due to landslides in various areas of Kohistan.
Heavy rainfall persists in and around Chilas city, accompanied by intermittent snowfall on Babusar Top, Nanga Parbat, and neighboring mountains. Jagran Valley, Luat Bala, Sharda, Taubat, and Helmet experienced snowfall ranging from 6 to 8 inches.
Communication systems suffered from torrential rains, with landslides blocking roads such as the Neelam highway, and power and internet services disrupted due to downed transmission lines.
Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, also witnessed heavy rainfall, leading to increased flow in the Jhelum and Neelum rivers.
With water levels rising above flood levels, authorities cautioned people to steer clear of rivers and streams.
