Landslide At Dana Sar: Travellers Stuck As DI Khan-Zhob Highway Blocked

ZHOB: Due to a landslide occurred as a result of recent torrential rains, the National Highway connecting Zhob with Dera Ismail Khan at the point of Dana Sar, will remain completely closed for the next 24 hours trapping hundreds of travellers.

The Pakistan Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said that the landslide hit the point of Khan Rosh Dana Sar in Zhob, Dera Ismail Khan causing severe damage to several vehicles and reports of injuries to several people have also emerged.

Deputy Commissioner Shirani Hazrat Wali Kakar, Directorate of Agricultural Engineering Department Officer Engineer Tahir Jan Mandukhel, and Levies personnel arrived on time and started relief operations, while Rescue 1122 personnel also reached there and took measures for the affected passengers.

While heavy vehicles got stuck due to landslides, many people are injured. DC Shirani advised that passengers should not travel on the highway until its restoration is complete to avoid any suffering. Passengers should not travel on the Zhob DI Khan National Highway for the next 24 hours, he added.

Levies officials shifted the stranded passengers to safe places. Tahir Jan Mandukhel, the officer of the Agricultural Engineering Department, arrived on time and took steps to clear the highway with the help of heavy machinery.
