Lahore: The Central Business District (CBD) Punjab has taken a major step toward sustainable urban development with the launch of an innovative rainwater conservation system in Lahore.
Officials confirmed the successful completion of a rainwater harvesting lake in the Quaid District of CBD Lahore. The newly built facility can store up to five million gallons of rainwater, thanks to its 20-foot depth—sufficient to capture runoff from two significant monsoon events.
Imran Amin, CEO of CBD Punjab, highlighted that this initiative is aimed at addressing urban flooding while enabling the reuse of rainwater in various developmental and environmental projects throughout the district.
“This project is part of our vision to create an entirely eco-friendly urban model,” Amin said. “It reflects our commitment to sustainable infrastructure and climate-responsive urban planning.”The rainwater harvesting lake stands as a pioneering effort in integrating green solutions into Lahore’s urban fabric, reinforcing CBD Punjab’s role in promoting environmentally responsible development.
