Lahore: Punjab’s Interim Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, hailed Lahore’s historic artificial rain debut as a milestone achievement.

Speaking to the press, he lauded the meticulous orchestration of this unprecedented event, facilitated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), resulting in a significant but gentle rainfall across ten areas in the provincial metropolis. Naqvi expressed deep appreciation for the Environment Department and the entire UAE team for their exhaustive efforts in overseeing the process.

He revealed that 48 flares were utilized for cloud seeding, specifically targeting the Shahdara area. Notably, not a single rupee from Punjab’s funds contributed to this groundbreaking endeavor, attributing the success to the UAE government’s support in materializing the artificial rain project in Pakistan.

Strategically concentrated within a 10 to 15-kilometre radius in Lahore, the experiment showcased precision and efficacy. Naqvi proudly declared that this initiative propelled Lahore from last night’s ranking to the foremost position in terms of rainfall.

He emphasized the significance of this artificial rain experiment for the city, anticipating further insights by nightfall. Furthermore, he highlighted the federal government’s parallel efforts in the artificial rain domain and announced imminent plans to install smog towers in Lahore.
