Lahore Receives Light to Moderate Rain

Lahore: Light to moderate rain hit the provincial capital early Friday morning, leading to the inundation of low-lying areas and providing some relief from the humid conditions.

The rain began at 2:40 AM and continued for over three hours, varying in intensity from light to heavy with occasional gaps.

Commuters faced difficulties navigating the roads, which were covered in small and large puddles. The rainfall measurements in various areas were as follows:

Jail Road: 62.5 mm

Nishter Town: 64 mm

Chowk Nakhuda: 61 mm

Pani Wala Talab: 89 mm

Laxmi Chowk: 95 mm

Gulberg: 65 mm

Airport: 63 mm

Upper Mall: 50 mm

Mughlapura: 68 mm

Samanabad: 56 mm

Johar Town: 44 mm

Gulshan-e-Ravi: 78 mm

Farrukhabad: 56 mm

Other areas also experienced light rain. Despite the city district government’s efforts to manage the situation, many roads in Shahdra remained uncleared.

According to a spokesman from the Pakistan Meteorological Department, hot and very humid weather is expected across most parts of the country, including Lahore, over the next 24 hours. Isolated rain, windstorms, and thundershowers are anticipated in northeastern and eastern Punjab.
