Lahore Police Nab 209 in Smog Enforcement

Lahore: Lahore Police have intensified their anti-smog campaign, registering 197 cases and arresting 209 individuals for violating government SOPs on smog prevention.
According to a police spokesperson, cases were registered for violations including the burning of fuel, coal, and crop residue, as well as emissions from factories and vehicles.
Arrests include 77 for construction material-related violations and 25 for burning tires and plastic waste. Enforcement was spread across divisions, including City, Cantt, Civil Lines, Sadar, Iqbal Town, and Model Town.
Lahore CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana emphasized strict compliance with environmental laws and instructed traffic police to take action against smoke-emitting vehicles. He also called on citizens to cooperate in reducing air pollution.
