Lahore:The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot and dry conditions for Lahore and much of Punjab in the coming days, warning of rising temperatures and minimal chances of rain.

According to the Met Office, while Friday morning brought a mix of clouds and sunshine, residents should prepare for dusty winds and increasing heat. Lahore’s temperature is expected to range between a minimum of 24°C and a high of 38°C.

The dry spell is projected to continue for the next two to three days, with the possibility of temperatures climbing even higher. “There is little to no likelihood of rainfall during this period, which may intensify the heat,” the PMD advisory stated.

Authorities have urged the public to take necessary precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses, particularly during peak afternoon hours. Vulnerable groups — including children, the elderly, and those with preexisting health conditions — are advised to stay indoors, remain hydrated, and avoid direct sunlight.

This prolonged dry spell has also raised concerns about deteriorating air quality and its implications for public health, especially in urban centers like Lahore.
