Peshawar: Governor Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, imposed a province-wide ban on Thursday on the sale or lease of land owned by universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The decision follows a stay order from the Peshawar High Court, which halted any sale or lease of university land in the province. In response, the Governor’s Principal Secretary issued written directives to all universities, instructing them not to take any action related to land sales or leases.

Governor Kundi strongly emphasized that no university would be permitted to sell even an inch of its land under his tenure as Chancellor.

He criticized a political party for proposing the conversion of the President’s House and the Prime Minister’s House into universities, accusing them of mismanaging and undermining existing educational institutions.
