KPCTA’s Tourism Drive: Three-Day ‘Orakzai Zalmo Mela’ From November 3

Peshawar: A three-day “Orakzai Zalmo Mela” is set to take place in the Orakzai tribal district from November 3 to 5, as announced by KPCTA sources on Thursday.

This event, organized by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) in collaboration with the Tourism Wing and the Pakistan Armed Forces, aims to promote tourism, especially in the merged districts, and provide a platform for local youth to explore and develop their talents.KPCTA is fully committed to leveraging all available resources to enhance tourism in the neighboring districts of the province. The festival will include cultural stalls that highlight the rich heritage of the merged districts, featuring traditional food items and much more.

Additionally, a variety of sports competitions, such as cricket, kabaddi, volleyball, stone lifting, tractor stopping, truck pulling, tug of war, desi kushti, archery, and athletics, will be part of the festivities. The festival will also include captivating performances of the traditional KP Khattak dance, with a significant participation of young individuals.The “Orakzai Zalmo Mela” aims to provide a platform for emerging talents in the merged districts, stimulating tourism, fostering local economic development, and creating opportunities for the region’s residents. KPCTA’s track record of organizing youth-oriented events in tribal areas has positively influenced the mindset of young people in these regions.

This initiative is part of KPCTA’s broader efforts to integrate youngsters into mainstream society, equipping them with growth opportunities and making them valuable contributors to the community.
