KP Witnesses Heavy Rainfall While Lahore Remains Partly Cloudy

Peshawar/Lahore: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa experienced heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours, with Upper Dir recording the highest rainfall at 61mm, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

Lower Dir followed with 48mm, while other areas, including Kalam (46mm), Balakot (45mm), Cherat (44mm), and Peshawar’s airport area (41mm), also saw significant precipitation.

In the northern parts of the province, Chitral, Saidu Sharif, and Patan each recorded 40mm of rain, while Mir Khani and Bajaur received 37mm.

Bacha Khan Airport and Landi Kotal measured 35mm, Parachinar saw 31mm, and Malam Jabba recorded 30mm of rainfall. Other districts, such as Kohat (27mm), Takht Bhai (25mm), and Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Risalpur, and Mardan (12mm each), also received rain.

Additionally, snowfall was recorded in several mountainous areas, including Chitral (5.5 inches), Skardu (4.72 inches), Astore (3.93 inches), and Drosh (1.18 inches). The Meteorological Department has forecasted further rain and snowfall in the coming 24 hours, advising residents to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel.

Lahore experiencing partly cloudy weather

Meanwhile, Lahore experienced partly cloudy weather, with temperatures ranging between 15°C and 23°C. The local MET office attributed the conditions to a westerly trough affecting the upper regions of the country, with a possibility of scattered rain across various cities in the next 24 hours.
