KP Musical Night Crowds Make Lok Mela a Hit

Islamabad: The ninth day of Lok Mela 2025 unfolded with unprecedented energy on Saturday, drawing more than 200,000 visitors to Lok Virsa for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Musical Night, making it one of the festival’s busiest and most vibrant days yet.
The festival grounds came alive with colour, music, craftsmanship, and a festive spirit, showcasing Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage. Families, students, diplomats, and art enthusiasts explored provincial pavilions, met artisans from across the country, and enjoyed a variety of traditional foods, turning the Lok Virsa lawns into a lively cultural arena.
The evening’s highlight, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Musical Night, featured captivating performances by Zeek Afridi and Bakhtiar Khattak. Rising star Sana Tajik impressed the audience with her expressive renditions, while Raj Wali presented traditional Pashto melodies cherished by folk music lovers.

Host Fatima Nazish kept the audience engaged throughout, and a standout moment came when the Shahid Ali Khan Qawwali Group delivered an electrifying performance that had the crowd clapping, chanting, and swaying to the spiritual rhythm. Arzu Naz added further depth with her heartfelt compositions.
A live ensemble featuring saxophone, banjo, rubab, harmonium, and tabla enhanced the musical experience, celebrating the folk heritage of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Executive Director Lok Virsa, Dr. Muhammad Waqas Saleem, thanked the public for their overwhelming participation, noting that the festival’s success reflects Pakistan’s enduring love for its cultural roots. He reaffirmed Lok Virsa’s commitment to supporting artisans, promoting indigenous traditions, and providing a national platform for regional artists.
