KP Gandapur Takes Notice of  Haripur School Fire Incident

Haripur: Chief Minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has taken swift action following the fire incident at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Srikot in Haripur. 

Ali Amin Gandapur has directed the Education Department and relevant district administration to investigate the incident and provide a report immediately. 

Additionally, Gandapur has ordered immediate compensation for the damage caused by the fire to ensure educational activities can resume without delay.

The KP CM emphasized the need for a thorough review of all educational institutions in the province to prevent similar incidents in the future.

It is to mention here that the fire, attributed to a short circuit, resulted in the burning of room roofs, school records, and wooden furniture. 

Fortunately, all 600 students present were safely evacuated with the efforts of District Emergency Officer Tanveer Ahmed and the Rescue 1122 Haripur firefighter team.

Local reports and rescue officials confirmed the fire’s cause and lamented the extensive damage it caused. 

Meanwhile, the Education Department has established a team to assess the losses, with their findings expected within the next two days.

Additionally, investigations will be conducted to ascertain why old and worn-out wires were not replaced, with those found responsible facing departmental inquiry, despite the availability of school funds.
