Peshawar:  The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly, chaired by Speaker Babar Salim Swati, has established an 11-member parliamentary committee to investigate an alleged police raid on the KP House in Islamabad.

The committee was formed following consultations with the opposition to thoroughly examine the incident from all perspectives, as stated by Law Minister Aftab Alam during the session.

The committee members include Chairman Munir Hussain Laghmani, Opposition Leader Dr. Ebad Khan, and MPAs Akhtar Khan, Iftikhar Mishwani, Muhammad Arif, Shafiullah, Johar Muhammad, Asif Khan, Ahmed Kundi, and Adnan Khan.

Minister Alam assured that the findings of the committee would be shared with all assembly members.

During the session, Opposition Leader Dr Ebad Khan criticized the Chief Minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa for allegedly disappearing voluntarily, asserting that he has not been arrested.

He condemned the slogans directed at political leadership by PTI workers, describing the Chief Minister’s departure from the assembly without listening to the opposition as an irrational act.

Dr. Ebad emphasized that the opposition is willing to play a constructive role if Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s issues are addressed with the central government in a positive manner.
