Karachi Woman Rescued After Being Chained in Flat
News Desk
Karachi: Police in Karachi rescued a woman who was found chained inside a flat in Defence Phase 5 following an alert from local residents on Sunday.
Authorities said the victim, a resident of Shireen Jinnah Colony, was discovered bound with chains in a room on the third floor of the building.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the woman’s former husband, along with an accomplice, lured her to the flat under the pretext of discussing child-related expenses. Once there, she was restrained with chains before the suspects fled the scene.

The woman told police that she has three children and her divorce proceedings are currently pending in court. She added that matters concerning child custody and maintenance had already been settled outside the court.
Despite their separation, the former husband allegedly contacted her again under the guise of resolving financial matters, arranging the meeting that led to her confinement.
Police said that neighbours raised the alarm after noticing suspicious activity at the building. A police team responded promptly, entered the flat, and freed the woman. A case has been registered based on her complaint.
Authorities confirmed that raids are underway to arrest the main suspect, Latif, and his accomplice, Aman, as investigations continue. Officials said efforts are being made to bring the perpetrators to justice.
