Karachi Mourns Loss of Tennis Prodigy Zainab Naqvi

Islamabad: Zainab Ali Naqvi, a talented Pakistani tennis player hailing from Karachi, tragically passed away at the age of 17 in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Zainab had traveled to Islamabad to participate in the ITF Juniors Tournament.
Reports indicate that Zainab was discovered deceased in her washroom, with her family learning of her untimely passing after the door was forcibly opened. The family attested that Zainab was in good health prior to the incident.
Despite her young age, Zainab had achieved numerous victories in her burgeoning tennis career. The Pakistan Tennis Federation officially confirmed her passing, stating, “Zainab Ali Naqvi, a promising tennis player who had traveled from Karachi to Islamabad for the ITF Juniors Tournaments, passed away in Islamabad on the night of February 12, 2024.”
Aisam Ul Haq Qureshi, President of the PTI, along with former PTI President Senator Salim Saifullah Khan, PTI Council, and other members of the tennis federation, expressed their heartfelt condolences over the loss of the talented young tennis prodigy.
In honor of Zainab, the upcoming matches in the ITF Juniors Tournament will be dedicated to her memory, although the matches will proceed as scheduled.
