Karachi Heatwave to Persist for Two More Days: PMD
News Desk
Karachi: The ongoing heatwave in Karachi is expected to continue for the next two days, with temperatures likely to remain high, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
As summer conditions intensify, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 36°C on Monday, with the Met Office warning that it could rise further, reaching up to 38°C under direct sunlight.
A PMD spokesperson stated that while light sea breezes would continue, hot and dry conditions are expected to prevail until March 12, after which an increase in wind speed may provide some relief.
On Wednesday, temperatures are forecast to hover around 35°C, with no rainfall expected for the next 10 to 15 days, the Met Office added.
Karachi has been experiencing prolonged dry and warm weather since the beginning of March, with experts attributing the high temperatures to seasonal transitions and weak sea breezes. Authorities have urged citizens to take precautions, including staying hydrated and avoiding direct sun exposure during peak hours.
