Karachi Faces Heatwave as Temperatures Soar to 41°C
News Desk
Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a warning of rising temperatures in Karachi starting today (Thursday), as sea breezes are expected to remain partially suspended over the next two days.
The department reported that hot winds blowing from the west may increase daytime heat, with wind speeds reaching 35 to 40 kilometres per hour on Thursday, further intensifying the heat.
Citizens are likely to face heatwave-like conditions due to the dry, hot winds, with temperatures expected to soar between 39°C and 41°C today and tomorrow.
Karachi is traditionally one of the hottest cities during May, one of the peak summer months in the region.
Some relief is anticipated from Friday onwards, as temperatures are expected to drop slightly.
