Karachi Confirms Second Congo Virus Death

Islamabad: Karachi has recorded its second death from the Congo virus in recent weeks, heightening fears over the virus’s continued spread in the city.

The latest victim, a 26-year-old resident of Ibrahim Hyderi, passed away at the Infectious Diseases Hospital. According to Dr. Abdul Waheed, the patient was admitted with a high-grade fever and signs of internal bleeding—both characteristic symptoms of the Congo virus.

Health authorities are urging citizens to adopt strict precautionary measures, especially when handling livestock or visiting areas considered high-risk for infection.
