Journalist Khalil Gibran Shot Dead in Khyber District

Khyber: Unidentified armed assailants shot and killed journalist Khalil Gibran in the Khyber district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday.
According to the District Police Officer (DPO) of Khyber, the assailants intercepted Gibran on his way, pulled him out of his car, and opened fire indiscriminately, resulting in his immediate death. Gibran’s body has been transported to Landi Kotal Hospital for a post-mortem and other legal formalities.
Gibran, who was associated with Khyber News for a long time, had previously received threats from terrorists, as informed by the DPO.
He was also the President of the Landi Kotal Press Club. DPO Saleem Abbas stated that Sajjad Advocate was also in the car with Khalil Gibran.
Sajjad Advocate sustained injuries from the gunfire and was taken to Landi Kotal Hospital for medical treatment.
A case has been filed at the Landi Kotal police station in Khyber District, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, concerning the murder of journalist Khalil Gibran.
The District Police Officer (DPO) stated that the case, which includes charges of terrorism, has been lodged against unidentified suspects based on a complaint by the injured lawyer, Sajjad.
Meanwhile, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday expressed profound grief over the killing of journalist and former President Landi Kotal press club Khalil Jibran.
He expressed sympathy with members of the bereaved family. He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant patience to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable.
