Javed Sheikh Opens Up About Challenges Faced in Marrying Salma Agha

Islamabad: Famed actor Javed Sheikh has opened up about the challenges he faced in both his personal and professional life as a result of his past marriage to actress Salma Agha.
During a recent interview with a YouTube channel, Sheikh candidly discussed his failed marriages and relationships.
Addressing a query, he shared that following his first divorce, he tied the knot with Salma Agha, but unfortunately, their union only endured for three years.
Reflecting on the repercussions of marrying Agha, Sheikh disclosed the personal and career setbacks he encountered as a result of his association with the actress.
Javed Sheikh asserted that Salma Agha’s influence led to his exclusion from both Bollywood and Lollywood films. He claimed that she not only prevented him from accepting roles in such productions but also kept him occupied at times when filmmakers would have otherwise cast him.
Sheikh recounted an incident where he was initially slated to play the lead in a film titled “Khoon Bhari Maang” alongside Rekha, but due to Agha’s objections, he was replaced by Kabir Bedi. Similarly, he mentioned another instance where Izhar Qazi was cast in his role in “Bangkok Thief” before “Bloody Mang.”
Following his marriage to Agha, Sheikh often found himself accompanying her to India, causing Pakistani filmmakers to cast alternate actors in his stead.
It’s worth noting that Sheikh married Salma Agha for the second time after their initial union in 1980. His first marriage to Zeenat Mangi, with whom he shares a daughter, Momal, and a son, Fahad Sheikh, also lasted three years.
His second marriage to Agha, likewise, lasted three years before ending in divorce. They did not remarry, and they do not have children together.
Agha, like Sheikh, has had multiple marriages, and her union with Sheikh also ended in divorce. She has four children from her two marriages.
Given Agha’s British passport, she worked in both India and Pakistan, later acquiring Indian citizenship.
