Japanese Man Held for Harassing Wife with Over 100 Daily Calls

Islamabad: Police in Japan have arrested a 38-year-old man for making over 100 anonymous phone calls to his wife each day.

The case began on July 10, when 31-year-old Amagaski, from Hyogo Prefecture, started receiving mysterious calls from an anonymous number. The caller would hang up when she answered, leading to a frustrating and persistent barrage of phone calls. Despite the frequency, Amagaski was unable to block the number.

The harassment continued for weeks, with the man calling dozens of times daily, and occasionally more than 100 times. The calls did not occur at night or while she was using her husband’s phone for video games, which piqued her curiosity about the identity of the caller.

After enduring the ordeal, Amagaski reported the situation to the police. Following an investigation, authorities identified the caller as her husband, who was subsequently arrested for violating harassment laws.

When questioned about his actions, the man claimed that the relentless calls were his way of expressing love for his wife, describing them as proof of his affection.
